MTV.com
recently released an exclusive clip of the upcoming
disaster flick "2012." The viral marketing
behind the film is brilliant, but the new footage
isn't as notable. The newly released footage features
John Cusack's character "Jackson Curtis"
and a group of frantic passengers narrowly escaping
from a cargo plane that is about to crash. The
airplane crash scene is the first actual footage
released from the highly anticipated movie.
Cargo Plane Crash Scene
The scene that MTV.com provided starts out with
a pilot losing control of a low-flying cargo plane
carrying cars. The panicked passengers load into
Bentley that Cusack can't start until a heavily
accented passenger orders everyone to quiet down.
Once it is quiet, the passenger starts the car
by saying "engine start." Then Cusack
hits the gas in the nick of time, driving the
car out of the plane's open bottom-hatch saving
them all as the plane crashes and cars go flying.
The consensus over the sneak-peak seems to be
a disappointment in the special effects. Despite
the hype and viral marketing behind the film,
the actual footage isn't jaw dropping, even though
the intense "2012" trailers have caused
quite a stir.
"2012" stars John Cusack, Thandie Newton
and Woody Harrelson and hits theaters on November
13, 2009.
